Since DICE launched in 2014, we’ve been on a mission to get people out more. We know that going out makes us feel good, and that the memories from incredible live shows can stay with you for a lifetime. So, we’ve partnered with independent music publication CRACK Magazine to launch I Was There, a zine created by music-lovers, for music-lovers.
I Was There brings together personal stories from 13 fans and creatives from the music industry, focusing on their most memorable live experiences in London. These include the moment of feeling truly alive after winning a lottery to see Jai Paul; experiencing a sense of healing while watching a once-in-a-lifetime performance from Prince; how Tanhai Collective’s energy flowed through the crowd at an intimate Paper Dress Vintage gig; and the power of reggae when Chronixx played to a crowd of 10,000.
Featuring original portrait photography by Anna-Rose McChesney, and curated by writer and editor Dhruva Balram, the accounts in I Was There also spotlight some of DICE’s amazing venue partners, including HERE at Outernet, Alexandra Palace, EartH and the ICA.
