If you’ve been before, you’ll know Miami Music Week (MMW) is a marathon, not a sprint. Since 2011, hundreds of thousands have flocked to the South Florida coast at the end of March for a week of top-tier electronic music events at venues in Wynwood, Little Haiti, Miami Beach and more, including Ultra Music Festival, elrow and Factory Town.

But Miami Music Week 2024 is more than just a chance to see some of the biggest names in electronic music – it’s a great way to explore the city, too. We’ve got dive bars to dip into after the pool parties, local restaurants to help you fuel up, and cultural landmarks to check out in between. Below is DICE’s hand-picked itinerary for making the most of Miami Music Week.

Tuesday, March 19

We recommend taking advantage of Tuesday to get your bearings in the city before party mode takes over. Start in Wynwood – if you’re hungry and looking for a local delicacy, grab some gator bites or tasty hamburgers at Kush Wynwood, or head to Enriquetas for one of Miami’s best Cuban sandwiches. Explore the neighborhood of Wynwood Walls, known for its huge collection of colorful street art.

For the hardcore week-long warriors, DICE offers all-access passes for Jolene Sound Room, National Hotel, Factory Town, RESISTANCE, and Space. These passes grant you access at any time, to every event hosted by these venues throughout the entire week.

Wednesday, March 20

If you want to squeeze in non-music activities before the madness, choose between a visit to the Frost Museum of Science, Aquarium & Planetarium, or a kick-back at the beach. Virginia Key is a more low-key option, South Beach is where the tourists go, and Mid Beach is a quieter zone where the shore is shared by upmarket hotels.

Afterlife, named EDM.com's best record label of 2023, returns to MMW for a two-day takeover at the Miami Marine Stadium with its captivating installations, groundbreaking visuals, and unparalleled sound.

RESISTANCE, Ultra’s underground spinoff, kicks off their MMW opening party with a takeover from techno mon Filth on Acid, at M2 Miami. The venue is not one to miss – it’s on the former site of Mansion, an art-deco gem redesigned by Thomas Lamb, the architect behind the Empire State Building.

Thursday, March 21

Start your day off in South Beach. La Sandwicherie is a popular choice, or you can pop into Mac’s Club Deuce, one of Anthony Bourdain’s favorite dive bars (and one of the oldest watering holes in Miami) is great for people watching.

Over at Factory Town, Music On/Black Book Records are teaming up across five stages, running from sunset to sunriseand  featuring Hot Since 82, Eliza Rose, a DJ set from Bonobo and Coonee.

Friday, March 22

Don't sleep on the Boat Party Afters hosted by Do Not Sit. It's happening bright and early at 5:30am, but trust us, it's worth getting up (or staying up) for. You’ll get a boat tour of Biscayne Bay, views of the Miami skyline, and maybe even spot some dolphins.

The first full day of your MMW weekend is all about the pool parties in Miami Beach. The National Hotel always hosts the most unmissable parties in its infinity pool (the longest in the area) and they’re kicking off the weekend with Sonny Fodera’s infamous Solotoko Miami pool party. Danny Tenaglia and friends take over the Kimpton EPIC Hotel with their legendary Hard & Soul event.

Saturday, March 23

Throughout the weekend, Bayfront Park will be teeming with ULTRA Music Fest fans. Jaguar Sun is our pick to stop in for a cocktail and their kitchen, which Eater has deemed “the best upscale comfort food in town”, is open til midnight on weekends.

Known for its intimate setting and exceptional sound quality, Jolene Sound Room hosts an eclectic lineup of live performances spanning a wide range of genres. Check out ChaseWest who’s bringing a fresh take on minimal tech to the scene.

Sunday, March 24

If you need a break, try exploring Little Havana, where you can get in some salsa dancing at Ball & Chain, enjoy authentic Cuban food at La Carreta, or check out the iconic Versailles.

Be sure to get back to Factory Town to close things out with elrow’s RowsAttacks! 2024, where an interstellar-themed party full of flying saucers, space creatures, and an amazing universe of absurdity awaits. Club Space’s closing party presents an even greater endurance test – some years it’s gone all the way to Tuesday or Wednesday, and the dancefloor rarely thins out. Seth Troxler once handed out pizza to the crowd, Paris Hilton’s been spotted more than once and dancers hand out cafecitos (aka Cuban coffee), fruit platters and popsicles.

This is merely the tip of the Miami iceberg – check out more options on DICE.
