Spring 2025 Festivals

Photos by Rafael Farias

It's (almost) spring. There are festivals. Let's go.

We made it. Winter is over— which means the first shipment of 100% pure festivals is here. So do what Scott Walker wants you to do. Make it easy on yourself. Read this. Then open DICE.

UK

Brick Lane Jazz Fest (London, 25-27 April)

Unlike any other fest. Honestly. For three days, Brick Lane will be subsumed in a delicious haze of mind-defying, genre-blowing jazz of any and all descriptions. Rough Trade East, Village Underground, 93 Feet East and a bunch of other legendary venues will be lit with the likes of Laraaji, Adi Oasis, Ragz Originale and many, many more. BTW, I hate it when writers say ‘and many, many more’, but this time, there really, really are many, many more.

Desertfest (London, 16-18 May)

‘Camden’ and ‘heavy’ go together like kebabs and chilli sauce at The Marathon. And for three glorious days, some of the greatest stoner rock, doom, psych & heavy acts are sludging into the borough’s best venues to smear everyone with sticky, tasty noise. Zeal & Ardor. Earth. Pallbearer. Sign up now.

Wide Awake (London, 23 May)

If you know anything about DICE, you’ll know how much we love MOTH Club and The Shacklewell Arms, two of London's mightiest small venues. So you’ll also know why we’re buzzing about this year’s Wide Awake, the brainchild of said venues and fellow legends LNZRT and Bad Vibrations. Peaches. Dan Avery. Kneecap (holy sh*t did you see that film?). This’ll be wild, trust.

France

Madame Loyale XXL—Paris, 14-15 March

Paris hosts the glory of Madame Loyal, featuring Purple Disco Machine, VTSS and Klangkuenstler. They’re going big. 50,000m2 of dancefloors. That’s a lotta lotta floor for dancing. And a funfair. And circuses (curci?). It's Paris, it's Paris. And the leaves are growing green.

US

Treefort Music Fest (Boise, Idaho, 26-30 Mar)

Okay, I don’t usually do this, but can someone please buy me a ticket to Treefort? Jessica Pratt, SOFI TUKKER, Bright Eyes, Hinds, Amyl and The Sniffers? This is, this is … please. This is not missable.

Portugal

Sónar Lisboa (Lisbon, 11-13 April)

My mate Geoff once did a B2B with Jeff Mills and tried to bond with him because their names both sound the same. Didn’t go well. One of those Jeffs is jetting to Lisbon for the immaculate Sónar Festival, along with Gabber Eleganza, Nina Kraviz, and many, many more (dammit!).

Italy

MI AMI (Milan, 23-24 May)

This one doesn’t need a hard sell. The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Fuera, PSICOLOGI, and the rest, all in the wondrous city of Milan in the glory of May. Take a look.
