ECGS

There are now five Employee Community Groups (ECGs) at DICE – Women/Femme  represents employees who identify as women and femme, Pride 365 represents our LGBTQIA+ community, Family First represents our community of parents and carers, Neurons represents our neurodiverse community, and The Culture Collective represents our employees from an array of cultures at DICE. We want everyone who works at DICE to feel that their voices are truly heard, so these spaces exist to support important conversations about diversity.

Being a member of the Pride ECG simply makes me feel seen. It’s so common for queer people to dim their light in the corporate space. Pride ECG has allowed me to make connections with people in shared experiences and not only tolerate, but celebrate each other's differences. The queer journey isn't uniform; our lives and stories vary. The PRIDE 365 ECG provides a platform not just for mutual learning but for lifting each other up.

A moment that meant a lot to me was the intersectionality talk that we held. It was so inspiring to hear the ways women face the world differently and how their dual identities change the way the world works for them. I always understood the world from my own scope as a black Muslim woman, but to see others speak about their own unique experiences was eye-opening, whether it was about life as a mother or being neurodivergent. It was an inclusive safe space for us all to speak about more than just being a woman from a one-dimensional lens and really went into the depths of just how complicated and incredible a woman’s identity is

It’s uplifting to see other employees in the company, whether they are parents or caretakers or other, balance their personal lives and professional lives and support each other in finding the balance between being there for our families and also being there for our colleagues and careers.

Being a part of the Neurons ECG has been life-changing for me in my career. It means having a group of colleagues-turned-friends that I can talk to openly and honestly about my specific experience at work without fearing judgement. Not only do I feel supported, seen and understood for the first time ever in a work context, but I have learnt more about my neurodivergence and ways to cope with it from my other Neurons than I have from medical professionals. It’s changed the game for me and how I approach life with ADHD and I could not be more grateful.

The Culture Collective ECG, representing our range of cultures and backgrounds at DICE set things in motion in our US territories with inspiring events for Black History Month. This year's theme of “African American Contribution to the Arts” gave us an exuberant space to build from. Through this rich and thoughtful collection of events, we captured an honest depiction of the African American experience and spotlighted the Black community we have here at DICE.
