Grim but true: most women I know – and a fair few guys too – have been victims of sexual harassment at a gig, club or festival. From unwanted hands on hips and arses, creepy dudes pestering you after you’ve told them to go away, all manner of toxic behaviour that makes you feel unsafe and serious assault, we’ve experienced it all.
That’s why it’s so important for DICE to take a stand. We want to give you the best night out you can possibly have, one free from anything that makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe. So after speaking to the amazing Girls Against – a group of young intersectional feminists fighting sexual assault at gigs – about how we can help, we’ve worked with Good Night Out to become their first accredited ticketing partner. A grassroots response to sexual violence with a focus on nightlife communities, Good Night Out offer venues training on how to deal with incidents of sexual harassment and assault should they happen.
